Dr. Stephen Remmers

Dr. Steve’s illustrious career in the oral healthcare field covers more than three decades now, and he greatly enjoys being able to improve lives every day through his work. As Dr. Kenneth Remmers’ son, he’s honored to have followed in his father’s footsteps and carry on a tradition of high-quality dentistry that puts the patient’s needs first. Why Did You Want to
Become a Dentist?

Having grown up with an accomplished dentist for a father, Dr. Steve was highly influenced by the firsthand experiences he had at the practice from a young age. He always felt passionate about health sciences too, and dentistry seemed like a great opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s wellbeing and quality of life. He also really enjoyed the idea of owning his own business!

Where Did You Study
Dentistry?

After attending Bellarmine College for his undergraduate degree, Dr. Steve pursued his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, graduating in 1989. He completed all levels of training in the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum at the University of the Pacific, concentrating on advanced smile design, occlusal concepts, and full-mouth reconstruction. In 2012, he completed training at the Midwest Implant Institute in Columbus, allowing him to start placing dental implants. He stays involved in several implant study clubs and lecturing on restorative procedures. He has been placing All-on-4 implant restorations since 2006 and is also a certified Invisalign provider and CEREC trainer. Dr. Steve is a past president of the Louisville Dental Society, having held the position from 2006-2007. He has appeared in several “Top Doc” features in Louisville Magazine, having been selected for these honors by his peers. He is a current member of the following organizations:

  • American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
  • American Academy of Implant Dentistry
  • Academy of General Dentistry

Outside of the Dental
Office, What Do You Like
to Do?

Dr. Remmers loves to play golf whenever he can, and he also does a lot of CrossFit (he has received his CrossFit Level 1 certification). He is an avid traveler and spends quite a bit of time in Florida as well.
