So, let’s face it, a lot of people just “hate the dentist”.  We hear this all the time.  Maybe you’ve had bad experiences at the dentist in the past.  Maybe you just have a fear of needles, drilling, or the whole experience of being in a dental office.  It’s not uncommon.  The problem with this is that often much needed dental work gets ignored. This can lead to pain, discomfort, infection, or embarrassing cosmetic concerns for your teeth.  Ok, so that’s the bad news.  Let’s talk about the good….or the great news if this describes you: SEDATION.  That’s right, sedation dentistry could very well be the answer for you.  Sedation dentistry, also known as oral sedation is simple, safe, effective and a major benefit if you are a dental phobic.

Oral sedation dentistry is now the most common technique used in the United States and Canada to quell patient fears. The technique is easy and requires no needles. Best of all, the medications create such a comfortable experience that most patients do not remember the visit; it is as if they slept through the treatment. In reality, oral sedation dentistry maintains a level of consciousness in the patient for safety and cooperation.  As a patient, you simply take a pill before your appointment, a pill or two at the time of your appointment, and you virtually “doze off” during the appointment and remember hardly anything.  The medication has a very “amnesic” effect.

So, these means that in a single appointment, possibly all of your dental needs can be addressed……in a comfortable, peaceful and relaxed visit.  Thus, the fears you have about dentistry can be a thing of the past.  You don’t have to suffer pain or embarrassement any more because of fear.  Sedation dentistry is here.
