For better overall health you need to take care of and pay attention to our mouth. You need to reduce acid exposure such as sports drinks, sodas, citrus fruits, and fruit juices. These things can erode tooth enamel and dissolve the tooth’s protective covering. The sugars from these drinks are like fuel for the bacteria in the mouth which can cause gum disease as well. One should consume these in moderation and always drink lots of water to neutralize the acid. Other important steps to reducing acid and bacteria in the mouth include thoroughly flossing at least once a day, brushing at least twice a day and rinsing with oral antibacterial rinses.
