Do you have dentures? If you think you no longer have natural teeth and you no longer need to see a dentist, think again!
It is very important to see your dentist at least once a year for an oral cancer screening. The two most common sites to detect oral cancer are the sides of the tongue and the floor of the mouth. How often do you look?
At our office, in addition to the visual exam with the overhead light, we also like to view your mouth through our Velscope. This instrument provides us with the highest level of technology to detect oral cancer. The Velscope allows the clinicians to see the tissue in more depth than the naked eye. So always remember to make a trip to your dentist for your oral cancer exam and routine check-up.
