All-Ceramic Restorations in Louisville
No matter the extent of your dental damage, you can enjoy a perfect blend of strength and beauty with an all-ceramic restoration. The sturdy material reflects light in the exact same way as your natural tooth enamel for an absolutely flawless overall appearance. Dental ceramic is also highly customizable to match the shade of your surrounding tooth enamel. A high stain resistance prevents all-ceramic restorations from absorbing stains in your favorite foods and beverages.
While many dental restorations must be completed over two visits to the dentist’s office, Remmers Dental Group has invested in CEREC® technology (chairside economic restoration of esthetic ceramics). With software that allows us to design and manufacture your high-quality restoration from our office, you can flaunt your new, healthy smile after just one visit to Remmers Dental Group!
Benefits of CEREC include…
- Restorations completed in just one visit.
- Digital imagery is far more comfortable than traditional impressions.
- Digitization improves treatment planning.
- No risk of miscommunication between dental office and separate lab.
- Restorations prepared with CEREC proven to last as long or longer as those created the traditional way.
Dental Crowns and Bridges
A dental crown is a common restorative treatment that repairs significant decay or damage. When the affected tooth is healthy enough to remain the gum line, all decay is removed and the tooth is reshaped to make room for the new crown to be affixed on top.
Three or more crowns affixed together make up a dental bridge, which is used to replace consecutively missing teeth. The traditional bridge works by using the natural teeth surrounding the gap as anchors for the prosthetics that fill the space in between.
A bridge prevents the surrounding teeth from drifting out of place while restoring the patient’s ability to chew and speak properly.
Inlays and Onlays
When tooth decay is too large for a traditional filling but there is still enough healthy tooth structure that a crown would be too drastic, an inlay or onlay can be the perfect solution. Also known as a porcelain or indirect filling, the inlay/onlay is created outside of your mouth and placed after. Inlays are for smaller bits of decay and do not reach over the cusps of the tooth. Onlays go over the cusps and are a good choice for restoring decay between teeth.
